Overview

Nurse Residency - Powell 3 Adult Oncology/Hemotlogy - Methodist

Shift: Full Time Nights, every 4th weekend and holiday rotation

Shift differentials available for qualifying shifts

Full Time Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 paid over 2 years

 

Provides direct care for adult patients on a 28-bed medical oncology unit. Caring for acute care patients experiencing hematology and oncology conditions, specializing in chemotherapy administration. The unit collaborates closely with the John Stoddard Cancer Center to provide holistic care for patients.

Responsibilities

Applications are accepted year round. Start dates are dependent on licensure, onboarding, unit availability as well as your personal preference.

 

All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.

Responsibilities: Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited nursing program. Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. EOE M/F/V/D
