Overview

Directs Food & Nutrition staff tasks to assure that meals are delivered safely, promptly and in compliance with the patient’s dietary needs. Ensures the successful operation of the retail food spaces. Effectively communicates with other departments. Successful administration of these duties will ensure that all appropriate policies/procedures are being followed in order to serve palatable, nutritious, attractive, and safe food to all our patients, visitors and staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism in relation to the FOCUS Values.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily tasks, compliances, customer service, HIPAA, and overall patient experience.
  • Reallocates resources as volumes change and staffing changes
  • Orients and trains new team members
  • Demonstrates ability to audit, count and balance both cashier transactions and department bank.
  • Fulfills operational roles as needed to support overall operations
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Integrates and demonstrates FOCUS values and Expectations for Personal and Service Excellence to guide professional behaviors, while adhering to the policies and procedures of Unity Point Health – Des Moines.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities; be open and objective to other’s views; give and welcome feedback; contribute to positive team goals; and put the success of the team above own interests.

High School Education or equivalent

 

 

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

 

 

 

 

Food service experience

Progressive leadership experience

License(s)/Certification(s):

 

 

 

 

ServSafe Certified within 90 days of employment.
