Join Our Surgical Services Team as an RN – Open Heart. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will bring professional nursing knowledge and clinical expertise to deliver safe, high-quality care to patients and their families. Nurses in our Surgical Services department practice in alignment with the ANA Code of Ethics, the UnityPoint Health Philosophy of Nursing, and the Professional Nurse Practice Model, collaborating closely with physicians, perfusionists, and other caregivers.

Across our three Quad Cities campuses, Surgical Services features 16 operating rooms, two dedicated open-heart suites, and two specialized urology rooms. Our facilities support a wide range of procedures, including cardiothoracic, vascular, robotics, orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, urology, podiatry, and cataract surgery. This dynamic, technology-driven environment offers diverse case exposure and a highly skilled interdisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.

• Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
• Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

Education:

• Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS
