Physical Therapy Assistant
UnityPoint Health Fort Dodge
FTE: .4 (16 hours per week, part-time benefits)
Primarily Acute Care setting, but occasional Outpatient Clinic setting.
· Treats physical therapy patients under supervision of licensed physical therapists in outpatient, acute, home health care and skilled nursing facility as assigned.
· Assists in development of treatment plans for all patients assigned to case load
· Maintains appropriate documentation in the patient’s medical record
· Ongoing commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity in the physical therapy department
· Maintains positive relationships with the health care team, patient and family
· Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all appropriate members of the patient’s healthcare team
Education:
Associate Degree in Physical Therapy
Experience:
Entry level/new graduate acceptable
License(s)/Certification(s):
Physical therapy licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure in Iowa Valid Iowa Driver’s License Maintains Basic Life certification Refer to Stroke Service Policy for annual stroke education requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Effective written and verbal communication skills · Basic knowledge of computer concepts · Ability to meet time frames for work completion · Effective skills for teamwork/team facilitation
