The RN is responsible for coordinating the care of patients and families that they care for utilizing the nursing process, and the skills that are part of their functions as a registered nurse. Summary of duties include: utilizing nursing knowledge for critical thinking, planning of care, evaluating response to care and planning for the needs of the patient and family.

Education:

License(s)/Certification(s):
| Valid nursing license Basic Certified Life Support certification prior to hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months from date of hire, UNLESS ADT Nurse and not part of code blue team. Must obtain NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintain every two years thereafter. Completion of six hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually. | Specialty certification is preferred |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
| Basic computer knowledge. Successful completion of unit orientation and competencies. Must be able to communicate effectively. |
