Patient Care Technician - 3 North- Cardiology/Telemetry - Iowa Lutheran Hospital

Shift: Days- Full & Part Time

Weekend and holiday rotation

Shift Differential for qualifying shifts

$3,000 Sign On Bonus for qualifying candidates

 

3 North is a 29 bed telemetry unit. The patient population includes AMI, post-cath lab procedures, medical cardiology, stroke and medical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. CAPD and medical / surgical overflow. The staff includes RN, Patient Care Techs, Unit Clerk and Patient Care Facilitators. The culture of the unit is team oriented. Performs procedures for patients and provides technical services and support. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
  • Completes documentation to assure an accurate record of patient’s care.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in making independent judgments, and maintains responsibility for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital policy and legal limitations.
  • Assesses needs of patients and families, provides appropriate teaching to facilitate discharge planning, and makes the necessary referrals to community agencies to provide continuity of care.
  • Utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years old or older.
  • Minimum of 75 hour Certified Nursing Aid certification required.Indicate on your application which CNA certification you possess (75 hour, 120 hour or 150 hour). Only applications with this information indicated will be considered.
  • Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work.
