The Clinical Data Abstractor will assist with identifying, abstracting and maintaining comprehensive, accurate data on patients with a diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Coronary Artery Bypass and Heart Valve Surgeries and other diagnoses within St. Luke’s Hospital Heart and Vascular Services patient population. Collect and submit reliable data to the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Adult Cardiac Surgery Data Registry and the American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) Registries. This includes clinical document review, data compilation, documentation and data entry into the Registry sites for heart patients diagnosed and/or treated at St. Luke’s Hospital. Requires vigilance of the Registry data dictionaries and site updates to ensure data complies with the registry definition.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred
Experience:
2 years clinical nursing experience, 3 years critical care nursing experience
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
