Shift: 12 hour day shifts w/ rotating weekends & holidays

• A high responsibility is required in the performance of general diagnostic x-ray procedures.
• Performs a variety of general diagnostic procedures requiring limited supervision.
• Responsible for radiation safety as related to patient, staff, and self.
• Performs related radiology computer and clerical duties.
• Assumes individual responsibility for portions of the departmental quality assurance program.
• If qualified, may administer IV contrast media under the supervision of a physician.
• Assists radiology students in clinical procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned by the Clinical Supervisor or Manager.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide radiology care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Documents radiology care consistent with documentation guidelines.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
• Participates in department operations demonstrating professional behaviors to include supporting goals of the Radiology Department and maintaining awareness of resource utilization.
• Participation in non-direct patient care activities including educational activities, quality assurance activities, department meetings, and other related activities.
• Demonstrates positive customer relations skills.
• Provides a variety of services related to patient transportation and daily department cleaning.
• Provides environmental duties as assigned.
• Exhibits knowledge and skills to operate Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) , Radiology Information System (RIS) and electronic medical record (EMR).
• Adheres to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Licensure/Certification:      

State of Iowa License as a Radiographer.

Accredited national certification Registered Technologist, Radiology RT(R).

Experience:                         

Previous experience as a RT(R) is desired.

Skills/Abilities:                    

Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills. 

Organizational and time management skills

Basic computer skills.

Certification/Course:         

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
