This position is listed as a PRN position, which means it would not have a set schedule.  This position would help fill in the gaps in the schedule.


Performs a variety of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food: cleans kitchen area and cooking utensils. Complies with policy and procedures of JRMC and Dietary department while maintaining FOCUS Values.

POSITION SUMMARY Performs a variety of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food; cleans kitchen area and cooking utensils. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, and safety standards. 2. Sets up patient trays, cafeteria, contracted meals and catered events in accordance with established schedule and procedures. 3. Cleans the kitchen area, cooking utensils and dishes. 4. Operates dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean. 5. Prepares and cooks all menu items using standardized recipes. 6. Prepares coffee and urns for food service. 7. Prepares, loads, transports, and cleans food carts. 8. Collects, processes, and disposes of trash, cans, bottles, and similar debris and transports to kitchen disposal area. 9. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. 10. Maintains department records, reports, and files as required. 11. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. 12. Attends meetings as required. 13. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


Education/Experience: Restaurant or cafeteria experience preferred On-the-job training Skills (Other): Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures
