Serves as a leader, innovator, mentor and role model for inpatient and outpatient Wound team.  Collaborates with the Wound Program Director, Wound Medical Director, Physicians, Chief Nursing Executive, Vice Presidents, Directors/Managers & UnityPoint Health System Wound Managers and staff to coordinate educational efforts and wound best practice to best serve our patients.  Provides oversight and is responsible for the fiscal viability of the department through the budget process and oversight of expenses and development of growth opportunities to increase revenue and actively contributing to financial sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities

·   Responsible for implementation, ongoing oversight, leadership and strategic growth of the inpatient wound program, outpatient wound care center, HBOT, outreach and community education.

·   Provides day-to-day inpatient and outpatient wound program operations oversight, quality management, reimbursement monitoring, performance improvement and human resource management.

·   Collaborates with the Medical Director and inpatient/outpatient wound teams providing vision and strategic plans for program development; plays a vital role in the direction and administration of wound management within the organization and at the system-wide level.

·   Provides direction for the selection and ongoing review of the curriculum and educational materials to ensure they meet the needs of the population targeted.

·   Develops and directs the implementation of an annual program evaluation plan and performance improvement activities, including quality improvement projects.  Responsible for achieving program metrics.

·   Develops a plan to ensure that program accreditation and regulatory requirements are understood and met.

·   Oversees the wound educational process and ensures that services are provided in a fiscally responsible manner.

·   Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with community groups, payers and potential referral sources.

·   Collaborates with IT and EMR users to create/improve wound elated documentation and reporting, including wound management scorecards.

·   Leads gap analysis, recommends changes and implements improvements related to wound care, education and management.

·   Monitors patient safety reports related to wound. 

·   Collaborates with all delivery of care areas.

·   Serves as a mentor and leader

·   Plans and/or participates in the implementation of seminars, conferences or courses

·   Patient Care & Case Management

·   Scheduling for both Outpatient clinics and Inpatient

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Preferred or Specialized

Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Education:

 

 

·        Registered Nurse with current license required. 

 

·       Bachelor’s degree, Business and/or Health Care Management degree preferred.

Experience:

 

·        Experience in leadership role preferred.
