Full-time; Evenings- 1445-2315; Weekend & Holiday Rotation

Sign-On Bonus: $1500 paid over 6 months

Responsible for providing security services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the hospital community.  The Security Officer undertakes activities designed to identify, deter, abate, or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the department, as they occur on hospital owned or controlled property.

• Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intruders.
• Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises.
• Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
• Perform investigations for incidents criminal and non-criminal which occur on property.
• Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. Complete incident report on any significant security incident or concern, relays safety related information as appropriate.

• High School diploma/GED or highest level of post-secondary education.
• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Ability to de-escalate violent, aggressive, or disruptive persons. Use of critical thinking in a high stress environment. Excellent observation skills.

Preferred:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice law enforcement
• Military, law enforcement and/or security experience is highly preferred.
