Overview
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the operation, organization of the Central Collection department and for carrying out the philosophy and objectives established by the Board of Directors and the Management Team. Foremost among these responsibilities are strictly adhering to detail in the performance of laboratory procedures, solving practical problems, resolving conflict, and implementing constructive change.
Responsibilities
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for providing timely and effective services to all customers of the Laboratory, assuring that the professional and technical process is carried out. Customers include all age groups of patients, from neonates to geriatrics. The Laboratory Assistant works cooperatively with the Laboratory Supervisors to identify additional duties or change of duties that would enhance the Laboratory operation.
Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent. Qualifications/Experience: Experience with phlebotomy is desirable. PBT or equivalent certification, perferable. ASCP specialist or equivalent in phlebotomy is preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
