The Radiology RN coordinates, and implements care of both inpatients and outpatients in the Imaging Department.
Areas in which nursing interventions are provided include general diagnostic, interventional procedures, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computerized tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination Requirement: It is required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza. Exemption requests based on medical or religious reasons may be submitted, but must be approved for active employment.

· Assesses and monitors patients conditions when needed or required for the procedure being performed · Actively participates in procedures requiring nursing care. · Recognition of ECG changes and vital signs, initiates nursing interventions as needed · Assurance of continuity of care while patient is in the Imaging department · Monitors and cares for central venous lines, IV’s, drainage lines, oxygen flow and other medical devices while the patient is in the Imaging department. · Administers sedation/analgesia as needed and monitors patient’s condition · Administers other medication as needed per provider’s orders. · Reviews laboratory values with performing physician prior to interventional procedures. · Documents appropriately within the patient record.

· Provides education to patient and family as needed including written educational material · Maintains emergency drugs, equipment and supplies · Provides an open line of communication between self, technologists, Radiologists, nursing units and other health care professionals. · Communicates critical tests and critical results to physicians within appropriate timeframe.

· Participates in performance improvement plan. · Provides staff education on patient care as needed. · Utilization of best practice standards and evidence based care. · Serves as a patient advocate · Evaluates the effectiveness of the coordinated care plan and makes recommendations as needed.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria · Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. · Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. · Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. · Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. · Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. · Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance. |

Experience:
| Clinical experience in Med/Surg and at least one other service line ( ie, ER, ICU, M/S, Cardiac, Rehab, Maternal Child)
2 yrs in acute care setting |

License(s)/Certification(s):
| RN Iowa and Illinois license
CPR ACLS PALS or ENPC (Certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. |
