The Laboratory Assistant Coordinator assists the Laboratory Assistant/ Phlebotomist in process improvement of the pre-analytic, analytic and post analytic clinical laboratory services. Specifically, the Laboratory Assistant Coordinator assures those processes related to specimen handling/retention; quality control, POC testing, and result reporting in compliance with CAP. The Laboratory Assistant Coordinator shall work at the Laboratory Assistant/ Phlebotomist to fulfill strategic and performance improvement initiatives. Promoting the philosophy and achieving the objectives established the Management team is foremost among these responsibilities along with solving practical and strategic problems, resolving conflict and constructively leading change.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
| High School diploma or equivalent | Phlebotomy course Medical Assistant Associate of Arts |
Experience:
| Three to five years of Hospital Phlebotomy experience.
| Experience with phlebotomy is desirable. Must maintain PBT or equivalent certification. ASCP specialist or equivalent in phlebotomy is preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must read, write, and speak fluent English |
License(s)/Certification(s): | ASCP certified or equivalent. If not certified, has 6 months to become certified. |
