Inpatient Therapy

PRN As Needed; 8 hr. shifts

The physical therapist assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment to inpatients and/or outpatients.  The physical therapist assistant is responsible for implementing and improving physical therapy services and providing appropriate documentation and billing for such services.

• Treats patients in need of physical therapy services and participates completion of treatment sessions per established treatment plans and collaborates with supervising physical therapist
• Produces appropriate documentation and billing in compliance with all third-party payor and regulatory guidelines
• Provides oversite and supervision of other support personnel and physical therapy students.
• Completes appropriate communication with all patients, caregivers, fellow staff, and referring providers/clinicians.
• Coordinates with other staff and caregivers to provide optimal care to patient including care coordination, patient care conferences, and scheduling.
• Assists and advises supervisory personnel, management, and administration in development and implementation of quality physical therapy services, programs, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited educational program in physical therapy
• Current license, in good standing, to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the state of Iowa, or eligible.
• Read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English
• Possess basic computer skills and knowledge.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years’ experience
• APTA membership
