Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Clinical Excellence -Performs procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages and is expected to be the expert in the nursing processes of the Diagnostic and Treatment Services. -Practices nursing within the scope of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse licensure -Assumes responsibility for assuring efficient, thorough, and effective interventional case flow in the Medical Imaging Department -Educate as necessary and maintain knowledge of moderate sedation guidelines | 80% |
Patient Education -Assesses and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's/family's age specific needs. -Adapts teaching strategies based on patient's response, readiness to learn and level of comprehension. | 10 % |
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
-Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. -Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. -Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. -Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. -Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. -Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Education:
| Associate’s Degree in the field of nursing required. | Bachelor’s Degree in the field of nursing preferred. |
Experience:
| At least 2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse required.
At least 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care required. |
