Under general supervision performs professional duties in the application of Diagnostic Radiology services. Demonstrates proficiency in performing all Radiology Exams, administration of contrast media, and other related patient care services.

TECHNICAL/ADMINISTRATIVE/CLINICAL: (Total Weight of 100) Demonstrates competence in the skills, (processes, procedures, and equipment) necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below. Demonstrated competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility. Job Performance - Demonstrates competency in preparing patients for procedures and the administration of contrast media. Correctly performs all prescribed Radiology procedures in an efficient manner. Is able to work independently and critique exams. Utilizes good judgment to plan effectively and solve problems. Is cognizant of radiation safety to self and others. Demonstrates competency in the storage and transfer of exams. Patient Care Services - Provides patient education and insures correct consent forms are signed. Demonstrates competence in the administration of age appropriate care. Obtains and records adequate patient history and interprets physician's orders correctly. Correctly orders, tracks and charges exams in a timely fashion. Quality Improvement - Assures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the campus Lead. Logs in technical information, completes reports and surveys, and complies with all regulatory agencies. Completes Occurrence Reports as needed. Participates in hospital wide Performance Improvement as needed.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Graduate of JRCERT approved school for Radiologic Technology. Previous experience as a Radiologic technologist is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: Broad experience and varied technical expertise, initiative, independent judgment, interacts well with people, possesses ability to supervise, is responsible and has knowledge of and abides by rules of regulatory agencies. Clerical and computer knowledge is required.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: Must be registered by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and sit for the boards within 6 weeks. Must have a current license from the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency and/or the Iowa Department of Public Health. CPR certification required.
