ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Evaluates and treats speech therapy patients under physician orders in the acute,
outpatient, home health care or skilled nursing facilities as assigned
· Develops treatment plans for all patients assigned to case load
· Maintains appropriate documentation in the patient’s medical record
· Ongoing commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity in the speech therapy department
· Maintains positive relationships with the health care team, patient and family
· Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all appropriate members of the patient’s healthcare team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. Certified Clinical Competency Certification or completing Clinical Fellowship year.
Licensure: Speech Pathology licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure in Iowa, Valid Iowa driver’s license
Experience: Entry level/new graduate acceptable
Skills/Abilities:
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Basic knowledge of computer concepts
· Ability to meet time frames for work completion
· Effective skills for teamwork/team facilitation
· Ability to evaluate critically and think creatively
· Able to read and understand a variety of patient related documentation
· Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and treat rehabilitative needs of patients relative to development and age
Certification/Course: Maintain Basic Life Support certification
