Full-time; 3^rd shift; 2300 - 0730 Monday - Friday

Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 paid out over 6 months

Safety Techs are part of the Safety and Security team dedicated to providing a safe environment for mental and behavioral health patients while allowing team members to provide care.  Our team gives you the ability to work in three different areas: the Emergency Department with patients when they first arrive and are the most unstable, the Mental Health Unit while patients are receiving the care needed to address their chief complaints, and the Medical / Surgical / ICU Units working as a rounding Safety Tech to assist patients with mental health / behavioral health concerns.  We work as a team to ensure a safe environment for team members, patients, and visitors.  Join our team if you enjoy assisting and caring for others in need. 

Safety Techs are responsible for providing services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the departments they are assigned. The Safety Tech undertakes activities designed to identify, deter, abate, or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the hospital as they occur.

• Provide a safe environment to the patients and department you are assigned
• De-escalate behavioral health patients that are behaviorally escalated
• Provide documentation of rounds and all other items required by regulatory standards or procedures

• High school diploma required
• Post-secondary education in counseling, therapy, or psychology with 1-3 years working in a related field or situation preferred
• Good communication skills; good documentation skills; ability to defuse acute situations with behavioral patients
