Applications for the October 2022 Orientation track cohort will be accepted until July 15th 2022 at 11:59pm.


**New: Letters of Recommendation has been replaced by Skill Survey Reference Check. Once your application has been received and reviewed by a recruiter, you will receive an email from Skill Survey in which you will need to enter in at least 2 references. One reference must be a faculty instructor. Current UnityPoint employee applicants must also include their current manager/supervisor as at least one reference. All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.  


Applications are accepted three times each year for cohorts beginning in February, July, and October.

  • Clinical Track Ranking Form - found on UPH-DM Nurse Residency Website


Responsibilities: Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Graduate of accredited nursing program. Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. EOE M/F/V/D
