Mental Health Unit

Full-time; Days; Occasional weekend and holiday

 

This position provides counseling and social services to Mental Health Unit patients and families.  This includes performing psychosocial evaluations, counseling in both group and individual settings, discharge planning, and contributing to the patient's plan of care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychosocial evaluations and documents all elements of work in a timely fashion in the medical record.
  • Perform professional counseling in both group and individual settings, with patients and their families.
  • Perform discharge planning and problem-solving, engaging with outside agencies to assure safe discharge.
  • Contribute to each patient's plan of care as part of a multidisciplinary team, including team report.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy

Preferred:
Prior experience in mental health
Any of the following: LMHC, LISW, LMSW, LMFT or working toward licensure
