Overview

UnityPoint Health - Allen College

 

Allen College is seeking candidates for a full-time Director of Admissions beginning immediately. The Director of Admissions reports to the Dean of Enrollment Management. The Director of Admissions provides leadership, supervision and direction for the admissions and recruiting team. The associate is responsible to develop recruitment plans, direct recruitment activities, promote the College in a positive and professional manner, provide information on the changes and needs of the students to ensure Allen College’s position in the educational marketplace and provide recruitment marketing materials; direct coordination of prospective and application files for admission consideration, makes admissions recommendations and directs orientation programs for new students; and assist in meeting the mission and goals of the College through contact with students. The associate will actively participate as a team player and cross train in Enrollment Management department.

 

In compliance with the Clery Act, Allen College publishes an Annual Security report containing three previous years of crime statistics, institutional policies concerning campus safety, and a fire safety report. Responsibilities

Supervision/Leadership

  1. Oversee the day-to-day supervision of the admissions and recruiting team.
  2. Delegate and provide direction for team members and hold them accountable for their areas of responsibility.
  3. Complete performance evaluations for assigned team members.
  4. Develop and maintain department policies and procedures as necessary.
  5. Keep updated on all higher education state and federal regulations that impact the scope of this position.
  6. Prepare and provide reports as necessary.

 

Recruitment/Marketing

  1. Coordinate production and distribution of College marketing materials for all programs.
  2. Analyze student and marketing/recruitment data and best practices to develop and maintain a recruitment and marketing plan.
  3. Direct recruiting activities to meet enrollment targets based on the recruitment and marketing plan, including but not limited to appointments with prospective students/families, Allen College on-campus visit days, other on-campus recruiting events and off campus recruiting efforts such as career fairs, college visits, high school visits, etc.
  4. Oversee, coordinate, and maintain information on the various platforms used by the College to communicate to students and prospective students and our community including, but not limited to news releases and publications in collaboration with UnityPoint Health – Waterloo Corporate Relations, College website, social media, customer relationship management (CRM) software (such as HubSpot or others), etc.
  5. Act as liaison with partnership schools (e.g., University of Northern Iowa and Wartburg College).

 

Admissions

  1. Be knowledgeable of admissions policies and criteria for all programs.
  2. Oversee prospective student and application files for admission consideration, make admissions recommendations.
  3. Direct new student orientations, working with program chairs and other student services staff, to welcome new students and support their transition to Allen College.
  4. Direct updates to Common Application Systems (CAS).
  5. Act as student advocate.
  6. Coordinate and assist with official College functions and activities such as graduation activities and other special events.

Qualifications

    1. Master’s Degree in higher education, student affairs or a related field.
    2. Two years of experience in higher education with an emphasis in admissions and counseling and handling confidential records.
    3. Ability to prioritize work and function under specific instructions within a structured time frame in a variety of job situations.
    4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with others.
    5. Able to handle large volumes of work with attention to accuracy and detail; able to work with interruptions.
    6. Ability to schedule, meet and maintain routines and deadlines and maintain integrity of records.
    7. Ability to anticipate problems and bring forth solutions.
