Full-time; 3 pm – 11:30 pm; rotating weekend/holiday schedule; must be able to work 3rd shift hours to complete projects

Performs all necessary floor work to maintain the overall appearance of hard surface flooring and carpet throughout the hospital.

• Utilizes a swing scrubber, square scrubber and wet vacuums to chemically strip and remove soil from hard surface flooring.
• Operates back pack applicator to apply floor finish.
• Utilizes a buffer on hallways and corridors, patient rooms, offices, clinic exam rooms and other hard surface areas as needed.
• Operates large carpet cleaning equipment to revitalize carpeting in meeting rooms, offices, hallways, etc. as requested by the Environmental Services Manager.
• Perform other key job functions as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager and Supervisors.
• Utilizes scrubbers and sweepers to maintain hallways, corridors, stairwells and other areas throughout the hospital on a daily basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as: strip rooms of dirty linen, deliver/remove laundry carts throughout the hospital and stock medical supplies in patient rooms.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent or highest level of post-secondary education
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and display a positive attitude towards coworkers, staff, visitors, and patients.

Preferred:

• Six months experience in floor finishing/carpet cleaning.
