As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional security knowledge and skills in the provision and management of safety and security for patients, visitors, staff, physicians, volunteers, students and others coming to the facility. Maintains a safe/secure environment that reflects the NFPA Fire Codes for Life Safety and Security Management and UnityPoint Health Safety and Security related policies, procedures and protocols.

Education:
| High School Graduate | Hazmat certified Criminal Justice degree Police Science degree Law Enforcement certified DOT Hazmat certified Security Certificate of training |
Experience:

| Prefer one (1) year of hospital experience Military honorable service
|
License(s)/Certification(s):
| Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. | Same as above Expandable baton is optional defensive weapon. Officers choosing to carry must provide at least a Nonprofessional Permit to Carry Weapons and pass competency. Obtain CPI/MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviors) Certification within 6 months of hire and maintain certification by-yearly BLS Certification |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
| Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office – basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. Pass competency training for use of defensive weapons; hand cuffs and pepper chemical spray. |

| Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Will require overtime during situations when staff is needed to provide a safe and secure environment |
