Performs analysis on laboratory specimens. Demonstrates expertise and responsibility for one or more areas of the laboratory (Microbiology, Sunnybrook Lab, Point of Care, Blood Bank, and CAP Survey readiness). Acts as a primary resource person for that area(s). May instruct students in the Medical technology Program. Maintains records of performance as defined by the Laboratory’s administrative and sectional operating procedures. Prepares for the accreditation process. Contributes professional laboratory phlebotomy knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the UnityPoint Focus Values, College of American Pathologist standards, and UPH - St. Luke’s Medical Laboratory Procedures and Policies.

| Baccalaureate degree with a major in Medical Technology or related science |

Experience:
| Prefer 2 - 5 years of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency | Prefer 3-7 years of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency. |
License(s)/Certification(s):
| Certified as a Medical Technologist by the Board of Registry of ASCP or equivalent |

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
